Well shit.
I sat here all day thinking of some clever shit storm that would involve sports, Christmas, AND would impress our new facebook groupies.
But.
I couldn't think of any ideas.
However I think this storm is somewhat appropriate.
The BCS.
No question needed.
Just piss, rant, moan, cry, shit your pants, wet your bed, celebrate, virtually punch walls, question, answer, hate the world, wonder how your team made it into a BCS bowl, pray, voodoo curse, fight, debate, prognosticate, praise, curse, curse like a sailor, make fun of the Big 10 (11), wonder, go on a eating binge, hunger strike, real strike, boycott, blockade, trade embargo, treaty, and generally bitch right here.
Have fun.

I don't know how VT won the ACC and to be honest I really don't want to know at this point.
ReplyDeleteI also love the Sacrificial Lamb bowl featuring Alabama Vs. Utah.
ReplyDeleteAnd Ohio State...Really?
ReplyDeleteAt this point the only thing I'm looking forward to is the Poinsettia bowl featuring TCU Vs. Boise
ReplyDeleteActually, for the first time the bullshit bowl played between the other BCS bowls and the NC is Ball State vs. Tulsa, which could be good
ReplyDeleteJust another shitty to end to make me not want to watch football until March. Then I have another half a year to wait.
ReplyDeleteFuck.
Ohio State once again got into a better bowl than they should have because of their name. and the fact that they travel well. buckeye nation right? Boise State is on the outside with an undefeated record. Too bad Boise State can't bring in the money those OSU fans can.
ReplyDeleteyour welcome for the "beating a dead horse" rant.
...Well I would take Texas Tech over Boise. But I guess having 3 teams from the Big 12 isn't fair to everyone else. Plus Texas vs Alabama, and TT vs. Utah makes too much sense anyway.
ReplyDeleteMaking sense isn't a priority with the BCS. How many more viewers do you think would watch Texas v. Alabama?
ReplyDeleteShit, I might even watch all of the ESPN coverage leading up to that game for weeks on end.
But no.
I also have a really big issue with the home field advantage enjoyed by most teams. USC plays in the Rose Bowl again? Trust me, I've seen this personally, that game is a Trojan home game.
Florida gets to play...in Florida.
Alabama in the Sugar Bowl isn't as bad, but it's still pretty fucking bad.
That's actually an interesting dynamic a playoff could present. We hear a lot about the SEC/Big 12. But lets just assume someone like Penn State or Ohio state has a 1/2 seed. Could a team like Florida/OK/or UT travel and win in Beaver Stadium, In December, when it's balls ass cold? I don't know, and I probably never will.
ReplyDeleteYes, they could.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of my weekend was telling a 50 year old drunk in Oxford, MS why Texas Tech will beat Ole Miss.
ReplyDeleteThat man urinated on himself later that night.
Why not have some of these games at big, bad ass brand new stadiums that are not close to any perennial powerhouses?
ReplyDeleteLike Soldier Field?
Meadowlands?
Qwest Mile High?
The Arizona one is good, because I love that stadium, and it's far enough away from LA, and Texas.
Were this a Caption Contest, I think Elliott would have won.
ReplyDeleteElliot pretty much summed it up
ReplyDeleteElliott didn't punctuate his comment correctly.
ReplyDeleteZack, you didn't tell me that TT would beat us. And, I'm not 50.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I forgot to mention we had a Devin sighting this weekend. He came to my brother's house to borrow shoes. Apparently, shoes are in much higher demand in Mississippi than in Arkansas, and that's definitely saying something.
