College Football Blitz Week 4

Last Week: 5-1
On the season: 9-3-1

Played Cincinnati -7 Thursday Night and Central FLA -1 and the Under 45.5. Central Florida's defense gives up 10, but the special teams gives up 14. Tough loss for Don Delaware and the Golden Knights. But 2-1 is a good way to start the week, so let's go get that bookie money....

San Diego State +10.5 @ Michigan
Active coaches are 1-4 against the number versus their former team. Michigan is 6-15 in their last 21 ATS. The Aztecs will bring it against their former coach and will give a soft Wolverine defense all they want. Michigan 34-31

Ohio +4 @ Rutgers
UPSET ALERT! Frank Solich's Bobcat team is firing on all cylinders and is hands down the best team in the MAC.  Rutgers is coming off a much needed bye week after being throttled by UNC.  Bobcats offense is too much, Ohio 24-21

Notre Dame -6.5 @ Pitt
The Irish played how they should have played all season in last week's win vs Michigan State.  This game is being played at Heinz Field, so no real advantage here for the home team.  Notre Dame looks to get to .500 today, 31-17

Under 55 Tulane @ Duke
Two of the nerdiest programs in football face off today. You tell me how they'll score 8 touchdowns.

Arkansas +11.5 @ Alabama
The Hogs have been preparing since spring practice for this one at Tuscaloosa.  Bobby Petrino is 10-1 against the number in his last 11 conference games.  But the edge has to go to 'Bama and the defense at home. Alabama 20-17

Colorado +17 @ Ohio State
Ohio State scored 6 points last week and if the Buffalos create any sort of a lead the Buckeyes will go straight into panic mode.  OSU starts a new QB today, but I don't think that equates into a 3 TD win. Ohio St. 20-10

Oklahoma St @ Texas A&M -4
The Aggies opened up with a bye week and two cupcakes. The Pokes wrapped up their game against Tulsa at 3:30 AM on Saturday due to weather. A&M has had the extra prep time and OKSt has had an unusual week. A&M and the 12th man 46-38

Kansas St +13 @ Miami FLA
Like A&M, Kansas State has had extra time to get ready for this game.  The Hurricanes are coming off an emotional win and I think will be a little flat for this matchup. Miami's speed open up the game in the 2nd half. Miami 35-24

As always, we bring the thunder today. We talk College football, and a little NFL. I let my rage fly on Washington Redskins fans. Don Delaware again shows why he's the best in the business. Icehouse shows up late dropping bombs, and Stovall again shows us why he's the only one allowed to moderate the thing.

College Football Blitz Week 3

It's been a while, but I'm back. I make picks and you make $$$, it's as easy as that. So go grab your wallet, bet next month's rent and lets get this bookie money.

LSU Tigers -3.5 @ Mississippi State Bulldogs (Thursday Night)

Preparation is key to having success in football. LSU has had that luxury, Miss St. has not. While the Bayou Bengals were at home last week vs N'western St., Miss. St went on the road and lost to Auburn. Now in the short week, LSU will have the extra preparation time for all the looks a Dan Mullen offense will throw at you, while Miss St. began install for LSU on Sunday. At 3.5 points, you can't afford to not play LSU. Tigers win 27-14

Auburn Tigers @ Clemson Tigers -3.5

We're betting against Auburn here, more than we are betting for Clemson. Remember this Auburn team was a 5.5 point dog at home last week for a reason: they are a team of mostly freshman. A critical error will be made and Clemson will capitalize. Book It. Clemson 27 Auburn 16

Ole Miss Rebels @ Vanderbilt Commodores +1.5

Houston Nutt does not cover as a favorite. Period. (see Jacksonville St.) James Franklin is leading a fired up Commodore team who is looking to go 3-0 for the first time in forever. The Music City and Dr. Joe T will be rockin come Saturday. Ole Miss 13 Vanderbilt 17

Tennessee Vols +10 @ Florida Gators

Backing Volunteer QB Tyler Bray and the trends in this one. Bray has thrown for nearly 700 yards and 7 TD's in his first two games. He is a true sophomore, but carries himself like a 5th year senior. Tennessee is 6-1-1 in their last 8 games overall and the road team is 7-3-1 in the last 11 meetings between the Gators and Vols. Its hostile in the swamp, but Bray and company cover the spread late. Florida 28-20

Michigan State Spartans @ Notre Dame Fightin' Irish -4.5

Love me or hate me for this pick, but I am on Notre Dame this week. Brian Kelly's squad starts off 0-2, but could very easily be 2-0. Turnovers and Denard Robinson have plagued Notre Dame in its first 2 games. I don't see either of those playing a factor in this game. Touchdown Jesus! ND 38-17

Don Delaware's "I just feel lucky" parlay of the week: Florida St. +3 and the under 55

No explanation, I just feel lucky. Its a big game on Saturday Night for this Top 5 match up. Emotions run high, bootyholes get tight, playcalling gets conservative. FSU 24 Sooners 21

CFB Saturday Parlay

Nice start to the gambling season last week going 2-0 in our plays against Tulane and the under in the NC State vs So Carolina game. Enough self high-fives, lets go get that bookie money.....

#3 Southern Cal Trojans (-8) at #8 Ohio State Buckeyes (O/U 45)

Plain and simple, The Horseshoe at Ohio State is a tough place to play. Freshman USC QB Matt Barkley joked this week that the toughest crowd he's ever faced was when some parents got out of hand at a 7th grade youth game. Buckeye fans aren't laughing. That place will be a drunken mess tonight at 8:00 et. But Trojan Head Coach Pete Carroll knows this and won't put additional pressure on Barkley to make big plays. Instead, Carroll will look to his running game to carry the offense. On the flip side, the agile Buckeye QB Terrell Pryor runs the show for Ohio State. USC can't gameplan for a guy as diverse as Pryor and won't see another quaterback as athletic the rest of the season. Barkley's inexperience forces USC to play conservative against a stingy Ohio State run defense. Pryor's ability to make plays out of the pocket will give the USC defense fits. Bottom line: Big 10 football sucks and OSU is notorious for losing big games. But they will cover the 8 point spread.
THE PICK: USC 21, Ohio State 16

College Football Week 1

Going on gut feel for my thursday/friday games, but here are some quick thoughts......

South Carolina at North Carolina State (Over/Under 46.5)
Both teams lack depth on offense (especially at QB), but boast strong defense. South Carolina returns key letterman to a team that finished #2 vs the Pass, and #13 nationally in total defense; NC State isn't as impressive statistically (mostly due to a shitty offense leaving them on the field), but returns a solid group of experienced veterans none the less. Spurrier has lost the offensive "it" factor he had at Florida, so don't let the 'Ole Ball Coach intimidate you into picking the Under 46.5 tonight. Spurrier is 28-21 at USC and has not lost an opener since last decade.
THE PICK: UNDER 46.5; USC 17, N.C.St 13

Tulsa Golden Hurricane (-14) at Tulane Green Wave (FRIDAY 9/4)

Tulsa did lose Offensive Coordinator Gus Malzhan to the same position at Auburn, but 4th year head coach Todd Graham preaches the same 5-Wide system that Malzhan uses; so don't look for any drastic changes to the offense this season. The blue and gold also have a new signal caller, but Redshirt Jr QB Jacob Bower should be fine as he knows the system. Tulsa stomped Tulane last year 56-7, and I don't see any reason why this shouldn't happen again.
THE PICK: Tulsa 45, Tulane 20

MLB Monday Night Double-Header

Hope you enjoyed the free money I gave away Saturday with 4 solid money picks. The Magic closed out the series with the Cavs as predicted here; while the Cardinals, White Sox, and Tigers were all in the winners circle. Tonight should be equally as successful. Let's get that Bookie cheddar.

New York Yankees (-1.5 runs at -120) vs Cleveland Indians

The Tribe's Jeremy Sowers (1-2 7.71 ERA) heads to the mound to take on Joba Chamberlain (2-1 3.97 ERA) and George Costanza's beloved New York Yankees. Sowers posted a 12.00 ERA in losing two straight starts before yielding three hits over five scoreless innings of relief to earn an 11-10 win over Tampa Bay last Monday. Sowers will have ZERO room for error against an offense that showcases Mark Teixeira (batting .400 with eight homers and 20 RBIs during his 13 game streak) and Derek Jeter (batting .397 during a 14-game hitting streak). Play the Yankees tonight minus 1.5 runs.

Arizona Diamondbacks at Los Angeles Dodgers (-1.5 runs at +135)
Am I playing the Dodgers tonight because they are 18-5 at home? No. Playing the Dodgers because they have the best record in baseball? No. Playing the Dodgers because they are #1 in the power rankings? No. Play is on the Dodgers tonight because D'backs starting pitcher Billy Buckner (1-1, 7.16) was tagged for five runs in two-thirds of an inning of relief in an 11-2 loss to the Dodgers on April 11. Three days later, the right-hander was sent to Triple-A Reno. Damn son. Play the Dodgers minus 1.5 runs.

MLB Saturday's Triple Play

St. Louis Cardinals (-155) at San Fransisco Giants Over/Under 7.5 runs

PARLAY Nash Keim's Cardinals and the Under 7.5 runs tonight as Chris Carpenter takes the mound against Barry Zito (1-5 4.02 ERA). In 23 innings over four starts, Carpenter has given up one unearned run. He's limiting opponents to a .127 batting average and has 23 strikeouts to four walks. Those stats are RIDICULOUS. Couple that with the fact that Zito has a 2.36 ERA at AT&T Park and slugger Albert Pujols is in a slump, you've got the makings of a low-scoring affair.

Chicago White Sox (-110) at Kansas City Royals

Although the Royals have been playing good baseball as of late, history shows that they struggle against White Sox ace Mark Buehrle (6-1 ERA 2.59). The White Sox are 27-12 when Buehrle takes the mound against the Royals, winning his last three starts against them as he's posted a 2.50 ERA. The left-hander held Kansas City to two runs and six hits over five innings April 11 before the White Sox rallied for a 4-2 victory. Play is on the White Sox money line tonight

Detroit Tigers (-134) at Baltimore Orioles

The play here is clearly on the Tigers with one of the hottest pitchers in the MLB takes the mound in Baltimore tonight. Justin Verlander (5-2 3.55 ERA) is 5-0 with a 0.85 ERA in his last six starts, striking out 60 in 42 1-3 innings. He's 3-0 with a 1.29 ERA in four starts versus the Orioles.

Saturday's Pick & Roll

Cleveland Cavaliers at Orlando Magic (-2.5 points) Over/Under point total: 192.5
While the NBA and Nike want a LeBron/Kobe finals, the Orlando Magic clearly have other plans. After struggling against the 76ers and going to a 7-game series with the Celtics, the Magic have embarrassed the team with the league's best record: Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs are 0-4 at Amway Arena on the season and it seems that LeBron will have to do his best Jordan impersonation tonight to change that. This series should have already been swept had it not been for a defensive mistake by Magic Coach Ron Jeremy putting Hedo Turkalou to defend James on a last second 3-point shot. Bottom line for tonight's pick: the Cavs have shown no signs of slowing down Big Turk or Rashard Lewis, so why bet that they will tonight? Take Orlando at -2.5. Looking forward to seeing more of those Magic Girls in the Finals

Sunday Morning Parlay

Hope everyone had a big Turkey Day and enjoyed the christmas-come-early parly on Tuesday night with Ball State minus 11.5 and the Over 56.

Although I'm wearing my Sunday sweatpants, I got the business loafers on.....its time to get that bookie money $$$

New York Giants at Washington Redskins +4.5 O/U 41
The image on the left is all Clinton Portis will see out of the visor today. Weather Channel says rain showers and below 40 temps all day long as the 'Skins (5-5-1 ATS) host the Giants (9-2-0 ATS). So if the Giants have been winning straight up, covering the spread, and punching opponents in the face....why pick the Skins? Alot of reasons. The Redskins play to the level of the their competition. They covered against Dallas, Arizona, and Philly but didnt against he Seahawks, Browns, and Rams. Hungry for a playoff spot, first year man Jim Zorn will have the team ready. The Giants traditionally play the underdog role, but in situations where he has a two game lead on the division, Tom Coughlin has gone 4-8 SU. Bad weather, good running *Portis leads the league in rushing* and better defenses *BOTH teams are in the top 5 in the league for total defense* will equal up to an under 41. BUT as we say here at TGORH......Scared Money, Don't Make Money! Parlay the under today with the Redskins at 4.5. Washington is out for revenge after losing to the Giants earlier this year and Sean Taylor's ghost will be in attendance as he will be added to the Redskin Ring of Honor. Ghosts + Defense + Portis= Money

Tuesday Night Parlay

After a run-in with local authorities on piracy charges, Don Delaware had his internet restored and is ready to get back on the beat.

Some people like making friends, I like making you money.....let's get that bookie money

ESPN's Interactive Tuesday
Western Michigan (5-5-0 ATS) at #16 Ball State (8-2-0 ATS) -11.

The Iron Bowl, The Battle for the Golden Boot, The Egg Bowl, Feast Week for College hoops, Cowboys/Lions game on Thanksgiving Day....none of these games have more on the line than Western Michigan at Ball State tonight. State is playing for a division title, a spot in the conference championship game, an undefeated regular season, and improving their BCS rank. The Broncos are playing for their first 10 win season in the program's 102 year history and an outside shot at the MAC-West division title. Not to mention these teams have two amazing offenses. WMU QB Tim Hiller has already thrown for over 3,000 yards and 33 TD's. Ball State has probably the most balanced offense in the nation averaging 258 yards passing and 215 rushing.
So what's the game breaker? The Western Michigan defense. The Bronco D has surrendered an average of 402 total yards in their last 3 games. 'Nuff said. The safe pick tonight are the Cardinals straight up. BUT, as we've said all season "scared money, don't make money". With that in mind, parlay the Cardinals with the Over 56.

TGORH College Football Blitz

What's good? For Week 4 we went 3-3-1 ATS (16-8-1 ATS for the year) . Let's making this husltin' look easy and get that bookie $$$$$

ESPN GAME OF THE WEEK
# 13 Alabama Crimson Tide at #3 Georgia Bulldogs (-6.5, O/U 44.5)
The Crimson Tide (3-1-0 ATS) are coming off a blow-out conference victory at Arkansas, 49-14. At first glance, one might think that this Crimson Tide offense is solid. But in the words of Lee Corso "Not so fast, my friend". Sr. QB John Parker Wilson has yet to be in a pressure situation as the Tide's strong running game has been the focus of the opponents defense. The Tide have out rushed their opponents by 727 yards, averaging 236.8 rush yards per game. Bama's run game won't be as effective against a stacked Georgia (2-0-1 ATS) defense. The Dawgs are giving up only 2 yards per rush and has allowed only two touchdowns in their last two games. This game will be decided by QB play and the edge has to go to Georgia QB Matthew Stafford. Stafford only threw below 50% once last season (loss at Tennessee) and has yet to throw an interception or below 57% this season. In a night game between the hedges, the Dawgs win 21-10.
Georgia -6.5, Under 44.5

Don Delaware's Pick of the Week

North Carolina Tar Heels at Miami Hurricanes (-7.5)
The Tar Heels (1-1-0 ATS) have been impressive all season under former Miami coach Butch Davis. But with starting QB T.J. Yates out with an ankle injury, Redshirt Freshmen QB Mike Paulus gets the nod. Paulus filled in for the injured Yates last week against Virginia Tech and looked awful. Paulus finished the game 3 of 8 for 23 yards and two interceptions. The Miami (2-0-0 ATS) Hurricanes have been strong on rush defense. The Hurricanes are only giving up 75 yards per game on the ground, including games at Florida and at Texas A&M. Carolina's offense will see eight, maybe nine man fronts as the 'Canes will force Paulus to beat them passing. I bet he won't. Miami 42-17.
Miami -7.5

Other Picks for Week 5
Marshall Thundering Herd at West Virginia Mountaineers (O/U 54.5)
To say that West Virginia (0-2-0 ATS) has been a disappointment would be an understatement. What a better way to revamp your season than to have the lowly Thundering Herd (2-1-0 ATS) come in to Morgantown to play a pissed off Sr. QB Pat White and All Big-East RB Noel Divine. But the Mountaineers hot heads will be cooled off by a down pour of rain showers. The National Weather Service calls for 70% chance of rain before, during, and after the 3:30 EST kick-off. With a slick field on the turf, look for more running and less scoring. Roll with the thunder, and play the under. UNDER 54

#16 So Florida Bulls at NC State WolfPack (+9.5)
North Carolina State (2-1-0 ATS) started the season off in the worst way possible: shutout on offense while giving up 34 points on defense on national T.V. Since then the Wolfpack dropped a game at Clemson 27-9, but rebounded strong in week four beating then #14 East Carolina at home in OT. With that in mind, the 'Pack find themselves in the same situation as last week: 9 point underdog, to a ranked opponent, in an afternoon game, at home. So. Fla. (0-3-0 ATS) is coming off an ugly win against Florida International (who has yet to beat a D-I opponent) and hasn't covered the spread all year. Can lightning strike twice? I don't think so. But I do think that NC State covers at home 35-27.
WOLFPACK +9.5

BEST OF THE REST

Virginia Tech Hokies (+7) at Nebraska Huskers
True Sophmore QB Tyrod Taylor is ready for a break-out game. Trailing late in the third quarter 17-3, Taylor rallied the Hokies (1-2-0 ATS) for the 20-17 win at UNC. Nebraska (2-1-0 ATS) is largely untested this season with cupcake wins against Western Michigan, San Jose State, and New Mexico State. The Hokies are 18-5 ATS in their last 23 road games. Beamer's boys upset the black shirt defense 24-23.
Va Tech +7

Tennessee Volunteers at #15 Auburn Tigers (-7)
WOW. Tennessee football is terrible. The Vols are 1-2 ATS and 1-2 overall. Auburn is coming off a painful home loss to LSU. Tiger Coach Tommy Tuberville is sure to have the ace up his sleeve. The Auburn defense holds and the Orange offense never gets anything going. Tigers win 21-6.
AUBURN -7.

TGORH College Football Blitz

What's good? For Week 3 we went 4-2 ATS (13-5 ATS for the year) correctly picking the ESPN Game of the Week: USC -11.5. This week we got some gimme's and some long shots. Let's making this husltin' look easy and get that bookie $$$

ESPN GAME OF THE WEEK
#6 L.S.U. Tigers at #9 Auburn Tigers (+3, O/U 38)

Talk about a game of the week! Under 38 is an easy play here. In their last eight meetings, the under has gone 7-1 and Auburn is 8-2 on the under in their last 10 conference games. This game should be NO different. Last week, Auburn (0-3-0 ATS) scored a whopping 3 points. But lucky for the offense, that's all the points they would need as the Tigers got the conference road win over Miss. State 3-2. LSU (0-1-0 ATS) has played NO ONE up to this point. This should be a challenging conference road test for LSU; especially for QB's Andrew Hatch (walk-on from Harvard) and Jarrett Lee (Redshirt freshmen). But, Auburn is in a similar situation at QB. True Sophmore Kodi Burns and Junior Chris Todd both rotate at the position as it appears that neither one wants the job. Bottom Line: Both Offenses SUCK. Auburn wins 9-7.
UNDER 38

Don Delaware's Parlay of the Week
#13 Alabama Crimson Tide at Arkansas Razorbacks (+9.5, O/U 46.5)

The Crimson Tide (2-1-0 ATS) looked solid against Clemson on national television in week 1. They dominated both sides of the ball and secured what appeared to be an easy win 34-10. But since then the Tide hasn't been rolling. Bama's defense gave up 318 yards of total offense to Tulane in the 20-6 win, but the score was much closer minus Javier Arenas 87-yard punt return. Alabama beat up on cupcake Western Kentucky 41-10 last week. Arkansas (0-1-0 ATS) has struggle every step of the way. Without two 4th quarter come back victories against Western Illinois and Louisian-Monroe, the hogs could be sitting at 0-2. But Sr. QB Casey Dick has shined with 641 passing yards and 4 TD's. Bama's weak link is their secondary and the Razorbacks strength is their passing. The underdog is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 meetings while the over is 7-3. With Arkansas weak D, but strong passing game this should be a shoot-out. The Hogs will cover the over and spread (that's all we care about) but lose to 31-23.
Arkansas +9.5 Over 46.5

Other Picks for Week 4
Boise St. Broncos at #12 Oregon (-10, O/U 54)

With QB Justin Roper out, the ducks (2-1-0 ATS) look to Sophmore QB Jeremiah Masoli to call the shots. Both teams run the ball exceptionally well, but Oregon's running duo of LeGarrette Blount (8.4 yds per carry) and Jeremiah Johnson (7.8 yds per carry) are definitely the stronger of the two. Boise State's (0-1-0 ATS) 28th Ranked Defense has been untested at home against Idaho State and Bowling Green. Even after forcing 3 turnovers against Bowling Green last weekend, the Bronco offense could only create 20 points. Oregon wins 44-13.
Oregon -10.

Va Tech (+3.5) at North Carolina
Va Tech (0-2-0 ATS) was embarrassed week one losing to C-USA foe East Carolina and following the loss up with an equally poor performance in the 24-7 win against Furman. Combine that with Carolina's (1-0-0 ATS) mud stomp of a win over Rutgers on national T.V. and you got yourself a 3.5 point spread. Rutgers isn't that good, and without QB Sean Glennon the Hokies arent that bad. With Sophmore Tyrod Taylor running the offense and the boys in brown back to playing Beamer Ball, Va Tech wins 20-10.
Va Tech +3.5

Iowa at Pittsburgh (-1, O/U 41)
Under is 9-1 in Iowa last 10 non-conference games and 17-5 in their last 22 road games. The Under is 7-1 in Pitt's last 8 games overall. Iowa (1-1-0 ATS) has played 3 different QB's for a combined 5/4 TD to INT ratio against stacked defenses like Maine, Florida International, and Iowa State. Pitt (0-2-0 ATS) has lost at home to Bowling Green, but beat Buffalo 27-16. Both teams struggle offensively, but Iowa gets their first road win 14-3.
UNDER 41

Mississippi State at Georgia Tech (-8)
Although Coach Croom is notorious for having his teams well prepared for road games, his teams are also notorious for slow starts to the season. The Bulldog offense (1-1-0 ATS) has scored 12 points against I-A opponents so far. With Ga Tech's (3-0-0 ATS) Defense only giving up 255 yards a game against both Boston College and Va Tech, it doesnt look any more hopeful for Miss State to score any points this week. Ga Tech runs the old skool Flexbone-option run which should give the Miss State defense fits. Tech wins at home 20-3.

GA TECH -8

SCARED MONEY DON'T MAKE MONEY, BET YOUR GUT AND BET BIG
